Hello and welcome to my blog. This Blog was written to help family and friends understand my condition of AMML (Acute Monocytic Myeloid Leukaemia), which was diagnosed in August 2017. After spending 14 months in Melbourne at Royal Melbourne Hospital (Ward 7B) and Peter MacCallum Comprehensive Cancer Centre having 3 rounds of Chemotheraphy and a Stem Cell Transplant ( or BMT – Bone Marrow Transplant) from my brother, I recovered well and we re-located back to Tasmania in November 2018.
During 2019 I was having monthly blood tests and checkups with my medical specialist back in Melbourne. Progress was slow but my medical team were happy with my progress. Patience was the name of the game.
My final tests (2 years post BMT) took place Mid January 2020. Results were positive and I am now in “molecular remission”. Basically cured of cancer!
Please feel free to leave messages in the comments section of each post. And if you are in Tassie please look us up – we’d love a visit!
